sn0wbreeze v2.9.7


What is New?

  • Added 6.0 (10A403)/6.0.1 (10A523) support. (Only includes iPhone 3GS & A4 devices).
  • The 6.0/6.0.1 is currently a tethered based jailbreak via iBooty (except for iPhone 3GS old bootrom users).
  • SAM is built-in for iOS 6 hacktivations. (Hacktivated phones can reboot to a semi-tethered state after being activated [rather than just hang at the Apple Logo]). Kudos @sbingner!

    • Downgrading:

  • Use iFaith mode after selecting/downloading the appropriate IPSW for your device. You will then be prompted to browse for SHSH blobs for the IPSW you have selected. 
  • Remember to enter a PWNED DFU state with sn0wbreeze's iREB button in the top bar of sn0wbreeze prior to (SHIFT + Restoring) the custom signed IPSW!


    • iREB & iOS 6:

  • Due to some changes in iOS 6, the current public standalone version of iREB will NOT enter a proper PWNED DFU state for restoring to custom iOS 6 IPSWs. An update for the standalone version should come sometime this week. In the meantime, use the iREB tab located in sn0wbreeze's top status bar to enter a proper PWNED DFU state.
    •  iREB has been updated to r6 to support iOS 6 custom IPSW restores.


    A5(X)/A6(X) Support?:

    As stated many times in the past, sn0wbreeze cannot be updated to work on A5(X)/A6(X) devices until a low level exploit in DFU or iBoot is found and made public.

    A5(X)/A6(X) Baseband Preservation/Hacktivation?

    For those running A5(X)/A6(X) devices and need to preserve your baseband, there is nothing you can do at the moment. For those wanting to hacktivate, the only advice I can give is to buy the carrier's SIM (the one its locked to obviously) on ebay. The SIM does not have to be active with the carrier to activate the phone.

    Known Bugs/Issues:

  • Windows 8 users currently need to use this workaround to run sn0wbreeze.
  • iPad baseband will fail to flash on iOS 4.0 --> iOS 4.2.1 restores.
  • iPod Touch 2G 4.x.x restores fail.

    6. i am having 3gs oldbootrom and was hoping to enjoy this new version.

      Thanks ... still need automatic Hacktivation to be able use this new version ... can not get ebay sim easily here ..

      will go back to 5.1.1 till a new version with hacktivation available.

    7. found a way to hactivate my iphone 3gs oldbootrom >> hope it helps you too ...

      I connected the phone to PC and then power off and put in pwned DFU mode using snowbreeze

      THEN removed the SIM and put the cover in the phone and power the phone ON again ... it skipped the SIM after trying to activate and i am now using it fine

      can sn0wbreeze preserve baseband on ios 6, i have a iphone 4 4.3.3 gevey sim.
      if yes...after jailbreak it would be abble to recognize my sim? with gevey or ultrasn0w!

        I'm on ios 6.0.1 and use the gevey sim in my iphone 4.
        I activate my iphone with the sim of a friend.
        But I don't have a jailbreak.

        ultrasn0w isn't supported in ios 6

I try to create a 6.0.1 custom firmware but it doesen't work...restoring ok (ok message in itunes after restore) but when the iPhone restart theri is usb cable + iTunes logo. I NEVER see on my sn0wbreeze or desktop any iFaith mode or iBooty. I returned on iOS 5.1.1 now. HELP ME PLEASE!!! THANK YOU! :)

      I have an iPhone 3GS 32GB japanese OLD BOOTROM (work in Italy), iOS 5.1.1, bb 05.13.04, custom firmware created with sn0wbreeze 2.9.6 in Windows 7 64bit, Windows 8 64bit, ALL the sim work perfectly with hacktivation and ultrasn0w. I tried to create a iOS 6.0.1 custom firmware with the new sn0wbreeze but it doesen't work...restoring ok (ok message in iTunes after restore) but when the iPhone restart ther is usb cable + iTunes logo. So, no first wizard step. I NEVER see on my sn0wbreeze or desktop any iFaith mode or iBooty. I returned on iOS 5.1.1 now. HELP ME PLEASE!!! THANK YOU! :)

      i have an iphone 3gs new boot room base band 6.15.00 and upgraded it to ios6.0.1 with snowbreeze 2.9.7. it is tethered jailbreak, and i unlocked it with ultrasnow fixer. the phone is working fine for me but the problem is that when i connect the phone to itunes, it detects my phone to be locked and it does not allow me to restored my backup contacs etc or even copy music or videos.

      i dont have original sim so i bypassed the setup screens by deleting the system.app folder.

      i really need itunes to work for me because the apps keeps popping to connect with itunes for push notification settings and bla bla.

      would it be possible to activate my phone by downgrading to some other base band ?

      any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

    25. Is there any way to reduce root partition size from 1200 mb to say 700 mb? My iTouch is only 8 gb. Previous sn0wbreeze did not used this huge root partition. Redsn0w takes lower space to JB my iTouch. Can't you fix this problem mate?

    27. SNOWBREEZ 2.9.7 DOES NOT SAVES BASEBANDS FOR IPHONE 3g & 3gs. SERIOUS BUG!!!!

    28. Hey! Thanks a bunch for the software! The only thing that didn't work is the activation - set it under expert mode, but still, after boot phone required activation. Bypassed it with folder removal. iPhone 4 with old BB without an original sim.

    30. 6.0.1 restore worked iphone 4, but Hactivation not. itunes recognizes but wont activate. Info tab on phone blank (no IMEI or baseband. Dont have original SIM) Will it matter if sim is not activated with carrier?

    38. hello. I'm currently running jb ios 4.3.2 on 3gs. Do I need to first update through iTunes, then jb with the pwned ios, or can I just jb and update to 6.0.1 all at the same time. I don't know if I'm old or new bootroom and my power button does not work.
