sn0wbreeze v2.9.4

What is New?


  • Added the 5.1.1/9B206 untether that was released with today's absinthe update. 
  • Added 5.0/9B206f (Apple TV 2) support.
  • Minor UI changes (thanks @icj_!).
  • Bug Fixes.

    • iPhone 4 (GSM) & Apple's 5.1.1/9B208 Update:

    This evening, Apple appears to have (surprisingly) released 5.1.1/9B208 for the iPhone 4 (GSM) exclusively. Although there isn't much of a difference it was enough to make the 9B206 untether payload for the iPhone 4 (GSM) invalidate on 9B208. Until pod2g/planetbeing build an untether payload for this build, 9B208 support is not included. A small update will be pushed whenever this occurs. This doesn't mean the untether was patched though.

    Update: sn0wbreeze v2.9.5 adds the 9B208 untether payload.


    A5(X) Support?:

    As stated many times in the past, sn0wbreeze cannot be updated to work on A5(X) devices until a low level exploit in DFU or iBoot is found and made public. Therefore, A5(X) users will have to rely on using the lovely absinthe.


    A5(X) Baseband Preservation/Hacktivation?

    For those running A5(X) devices and need to preserve your baseband, there is nothing you can do at the moment. For those wanting to hacktivate, the only advice I can give is to buy the carrier's SIM (the one its locked to obviously) on ebay. The SIM does not have to be active with the carrier to activate the phone.

    5. How can i know if I want to hacktivate or not?

      Does 04.12.01 / 04.10.01 messes things up if upgraded to 06.15.00 (or whateer the ipad baseband is called.)

    6. Please, help me.. the 5.1.1/9B208 is not supported then? If really not, can I downgrade to the previous version? How can I do it? I'm sorry disturbing you.

      1. Use the shift + leftklick when reflashing firmware then choose downloaded ios 5.1.1 06 by Hand

    10. i have a locked version of iphone 4, after restoring with snowbreez CUSTOM IPSW, i cant activate the phone since i dont have original sim card :( now what to do???

      1. In Sn0wbreeze, select 'Advanced User' or something like that, and select, 'Unlock iPhone (Hacktivate)'.

      1. if you're trying to preserve your baseband you can try redsnow 0911b4 other than snowbreeze to create NO_BB custom firmware. I got 0 problem with flashing redsnow custom firmware all the time over 50+ iDevices already.

      2. IF YOU HAVE A TMOBILE SIM INSIDE OR ANY OTHER SIM AT ALL!! TAKE IT OUT! REBOOT THE PHONE BY HOLDING THE SLEEP AND HOME BUTTON LET IT POWER UP AND THE STATUS BAR WILL LOAD PROPERLY! IT WORKED FOR ME (;

Sorry all... i have an old iphone 4 running a tethered jb on ios 4.3.5 baseband 4.10.01. unlocked and on tmo with old gevey ultra sim(does not require dialing 112). the gevey is about a year old. does anyone know which ios i can most safely upgrade to with this gevey sim to still work... while preserving this baseband. i heard this gevey is still compatible with iOS 5.0.1 with a specific patch...

      I have iphone 4 ios 5.1.1 9b206 baseband 04.12.01. i am unable to unlock it can anyone help me please. I have tried ultrasnow the samprefs nothing has worked as yet i also tried downgrading but its not working as my iphone is on A4 chip. can anyone please tell me if its possible to unlock it if not does anyone know when will the unlock be available. My phone is locked on Orange spain.

    18. Attempting to unlock my iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1 9B206, baseband 04.12.01. After going through the entire Sn0wbreeze process twice, selecting Hacktivate, I still have no success in unlocking. Is there another step I have to take once the IPSW is restored on to my iPhone and I have set it up? All I have done after is insert my SIM card, so I'm thinking maybe there's something I'm missing. Thanks

    20. Dude, your Sn0wbreeze v.2.9.6 link is broken! How you are able to wipe every previous link off the web by preventing downloading of ANY version of Sn0wbreeze is amazing! Need Sn0wBreeeze to unlock my 3GS iPhones ASAP. The fruitless search continues to download any version of Sn0wbreeze...

    21. I have an Iphone 3GS 16gb which was working on ios 4.1.1
      The phone isn't factory unlocked. I upgraded it to IOS6.0.1 and after that i am not able to search for networks. it shows no services.
      so can anyone guide me to how to unlock the phine on IOS6.0.1 or any other solution to it.
      need one urgently.
