sn0wbreeze v2.9.3

What is New?


  • Added Apple TV 2 support for iOS 4.4.3/4.4.4.
  • Fixed rare issues with iOS 5.0.1 where it would halt on the Apple upon boot.

    • Just adding this in mainly for users who dumped their SHSH blobs. On the initial boot, the Apple TV may have a black screen for 60 seconds after setting up the Apple TV. This is normal.

    1. I have one question. I'm on iOS 5.0.1 i4 which is jailbroken with snowbreeze v2.9.2 and I have that issue where the phone wont boot properly (like you said in this v2.9.3 fix).
      Is there any other solution to fix it or I need to do the whole procedure again of jailbreaking and restoring with v2.9.3
      Also will I be able to restore it again to iOS 5.0.1 now that the iOS 5.1 is out?

    2. Doh, just tried the update, but itunes pushed 5.0 (4999) to my ATV2, so looks like stuck now till the jailbreak for 5.0 on ATV comes out

      Sorry for bad English. English do not know. I use Google translator.
      My unlocked iPhone 3gs, modem firmware 05.16.05, old-bootrom.
      I did a jailbreak using sn0wbreeze-v2.9.3. Untethered jailbreak has turned out. Cydia works fine, iTunes syncs all cracked software, tweaks from Cydia are working.
      It does not work geolocation.
      Does not specify any location on GPS, for no Wi-Fi, or on the towers of operators, the compass does not work either.
      Yandex-maps give the error "Unable to display the current location of the user", Google - do not display the location of the point, as in the Yandex-maps. And in the tray near the battery indicator does not light geolocation.
      There is a solution to this problem?

      1. Hi, I got the same problem. After updating custom firmware with 2.9.3, my location services/GPS does not work anymore, and I did not update my baseband to iPad baseband. My baseband is 5.13.04. Hope there's a fix soon.

      2. I guess you have the same issue that was mentioned on the dev team blog (blog.iphone-dev.org) a short while ago. The solution is to disable location services at the iOS 5 welcome screen and only turn location on later (in settings).

      3. Same problem for me on a 3GS new iboot baseband 5.16.5,

        gps doesn't work, i've tried the "pi_is_awesome" method without sucess.
        i've try too, killall -9 locationd and rm -rf (caches locationd) that will be autocreated when gps is launch, no issue.

        can you make a fix/patch,

        i stop to restore now, because it's long time to make it.

        maybe a untethered solution too ;)

      4. I had the same after Jailbreaking my Iphone 3gs old bootrom. Most functions are working well except the location services on any of my apps. Is the a patch on the near horizon?

    4. hi iH8sn0w im writing this post so i can clarify that the sn0bereeze 2.9.3 is very bugy still i restore my iphone 3gs yesterday with a custum firmwire made by the latest version of sn0bereeze everything went fine and the phone rebooted as usual untethered since i have a old bootroom 3gs ,the phone is being so slow as hell acting up thge most of the time, cydia is there and i didnt instal anything yet that i can say maybe its a tweak or anything else ,the phone wont reboot sometimes by it self i need to try boot it by pressinf home button and power button and it work but the phone is still slow ,i tried reseting all setting but no luck .i restored the phone 2 times same way and same bugs and issues .i find it weard since i never had any prob before with using oldest version of sn0bereeze because it was being so far my best tools to jailbreak ever its easy and fast preserve the basband and do what it is suppose to be done ,im just not happy this time with it. to be sure what the probleme i tried to restore the phone again just with with a firmwire but just in preservation of basband mode and the phone is working perfect the basband is fne and the phone is 100/100 fast no bugs ,so i think it is the jailbreak process that is doing a probleme .i want to write this post with more detail so i can help in testing. i realy apreciatte your hard work iH8sn0w kepping in working hard and thanks in advance

    5. Hi,

      I don't manage to create the custom IPSW with sn0wbreeze 2.9.3 (and neither with the version 2.9.2). Sn0wbreeze says that the file "will be created on the desktop" but I can't find it anywhere… What am I doing wrong?

    6. I have a AppleTV2 with 4.4.2 and I'm stuck. I see that the last snowbreeze can support all the version except 4.4.2. We are a lot who are stuck with this version. Can you please release a version who supports 4.4.2 ? thanks, Chris

      I'm trying restore mi Iphone 3gs (32gb baseband 6.15). with 5.0.1 firmware

      I used snowbreeze 9.2.3 and I created a custom firmware, but when i'm goint to iTunes.. the screen throws error 1600 message.

      I have already used iReb, but nothing do.

      What's the problem ?

      I could upgrade firmware with 5.1 firmware, but my iPhone doesn't recognized my chip... I installed ulstranow fixed.. but does'nt work..

    13. Why is it that some apple tv 2 i can drop the shsh everytime but others i cannot get it no matter how many times i try?
      For example: I have a APT2 4.2.2 (4.3) and cannot get the shsh blobs at all but yet this 4.4.4 I can drop every time.

    15. Where the option is for "install ipad baseband" on sn0wbreeze, does this just add in the step after the custom IPSW is created? Or does this download the file and include it on the IPSW so when you go to jailbreak/unlock, it's already on the phone and takes less time?

    19. I have done the whole process succesfully using the link below and used the phone for some days...but now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and when i try to restore it with custom ipsw again, it gives error 1600 in itunes..what should i do to recover my phone?

      1. same problem for me too. i turn my phone on once and then it stuck in recovery mode. by clicking just boot in redsnow the screen turns white and nothing ahead.. plz help

      now my iPhone don t recognize any Sims card ,and i am stacked with a black screen that says insert original Sims card. i can used only for emergency calls

    26. I purchased Apple TV 2G with 4.4.4(3330). I used SeasonPass but downloaded latest firmware and did jailbreak and also installed XBMC but I was not able to get any Cable channels or free live channels. So Can anyone tells me how to preserve baseband and update to current firmware? Because I saw comments that should not update the firmware. Also please send me instructions how to install the XBMC and other plugins.
